Qatar Investment Authority wants to invest in Egypt’s tourism and hospitality sectors – Markets & Companies – Business

In a meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Saturday, Asia-Pacific and Africa investment chief at QIA Faisal Bin Thani Al-Thani said Egypt is one of the top three destinations for investment. Qataris in the region, noting that the authority pays great attention to the Egyptian market.

Several senior officials from the French hotel group Accor attended the meeting.

For his part, Madbouly said the visit of the Qatari business delegation gives strong impetus to economic cooperation.

Last week, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sissi paid a two-day visit to Doha – his first since assuming the presidency in 2014 – at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

During the visit, the two leaders signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MoU), including one between QIA and the Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE) for Investment and Development.
