The Ministry of Justice confirmed the arrest of the famous Gupta brothers – Rajesh and Atul – in a statement issued on Monday evening June 6.

Department spokesman Chrispin Phiri said the South African government had received information from law enforcement in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that the Gupta brothers had been arrested.

A measles outbreak has been confirmed in Gauteng, but the health minister has called for calm among the four confirmed cases.

According to National Department of Health spokesperson Foster Mohale, all four cases were detected in the last two weeks of May 2022.

BREAKING: State-captured fugitives Rajesh and Atul Gupta arrested

The Ministry of Justice confirmed the arrest of the famous Gupta brothers – Rajesh and Atul – in a statement issued on Monday evening June 6.

Department spokesman Chrispin Phiri said the South African government had received information from law enforcement in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that the Gupta brothers had been arrested.

“Discussions between various law enforcement agencies in the UAE and South Africa on the way forward are ongoing. The South African government will continue to cooperate with the UAE.

The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) issued a red notice for Rajesh and Atul who are believed to be the masterminds behind South Africa’s alleged state capture scheme earlier this year. Their wives, Arthi and Chetali, have no such opinion against them.

Measles outbreak CONFIRMED in Gauteng – but stay calm

A measles outbreak has been confirmed in Gauteng, but the health minister has called for calm among the four confirmed cases.

According to National Department of Health spokesman Foster Mohale, all four cases were detected in the last two weeks of May 2022.

“In the last two weeks of May 2022, four suspected cases of measles in people residing in Gauteng were reported and ultimately confirmed by laboratory testing by the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD).”

Elderly woman BRUTALLY murdered at luxury golf estate in Mosselbay

An elderly woman was BRUTALLY attacked and murdered at a luxury golf estate in Mosselbay.

Margaretha Willemse, 79, was found sitting in a chair in her bedroom with a neck injury, while her husband, Johannes, 87, survived after suffering multiple stab wounds.

Police spokesman Captain Malcolm Pojie said Garden Route Police activated the 72-hour plan through the mobilization of specialist units and forensic experts who visited the scene of a murder.

AfriForum chief caught in armed robbery at Centurion Spur

AfriForum leader Ernst Roets and his family were caught in an armed robbery at Spur at the Centurion Lifestyle Center on Sunday evening.

Roets and his family were there to celebrate his son’s birthday when the incident happened.

AfriForum policy and action manager Ernst Roets said an armed gang stormed the place just as he and his family had finished paying and were walking out.

Zandile Mafe’s new bail appeal application was heard by a full bench of Cape Town High Court judges on Monday May 30.
